Locations
Locations are the “places” that your inventory is stored. Having locations for your Maintenance teams warehouses, sheds, and maintenance employee vehicles, is the best way to track materials as they get to a tenant for a work order.
Location List:
This view lists all locations in your Doorways site. This list is paginated, meaning, if there are over 15 locations added, the list will split itself into pages. This view includes a short summary of the location including Name, Description, and Status. There is a “New Location” button in the top right that will open the New Location wizard.
A. New Location: To create a new inventory location, click this button and follow the details outlined below.
B. Location: The name of the location that will populate in the location dropdown list when adding inventory.
C. Description: Here you can see a description of the locations. This is an optional field.
D. Status: Lets the user know whether the location is currently “active” or “inactive,” or no longer in use.
Location Details:
When you select a location from the location list view, the Location detail view will open. This is a simple view that includes: Name, Description, and status. This is where you will edit a location by clicking the “Edit” button in the bottom right:
Step-by-Step How to Add a New Location:
1. Navigate to Maintenance → Inventory → Locations and click “New Location”:
2. Enter the “Location Name”:
3. Optional: Enter “Location Description.”
4. Click Save.
5. Success! You have created a new location.
